The wedding cake I'd like (thought Joe hasn't told me if he likes the idea or not) is a pumpkin spice cake with a cream cheese or buttercream frosting. I love the clean look of fondant, so I know that my wedding cake will include that kind of finish. I hear that the taste of fondant is over the top sweet, but I know that bakeries put a layer of normal frosting on the cake before draping the fondant on, so if my wedding guests don't like the taste they can remove the fondant and still have delicious cream cheesy goodness.
The cake will hopefully be very similar to the cake on the right, only I will have either candied or real tiger lilies in place of those small orange frosting flowers. I edited this image so that the ribbons would match the eggplant color of the bridesmaids dresses, and I edited the fondant color to be more of a champagne/cream color to be more autumnal. I also chose this cake as an example because I really like the simple swirl pattern it has :)
